Sadly we remain unable to run Singalong sessions at the present time due to Covid 19, & this is likely to remain the case for the remainder of 2020. We know how disappointing this is, but we all have to do what we must to stay safe & limit the impact of this virus. In the meantime we are posting regular video’s on our Facebook page & YouTube channel, for a bit of fun & a ’virtual’ singalong! We hope to be able to return to live sessions next year, & will update this page & our social media as soon as we have any news.
Love from Alison & Lorraine xxx
In February 2019 Singalong, run by Alison and Lorraine, held its first community Singalong session in the small Village Hall in Polgooth, Cornwall. Nine very brave people arrived and spent the next 90 minutes singing to backing tracks with lyrics. It was uplifting, full of laughter and it created a wonderful energy. We both knew then that this was the beginning of something very special.
Did you know that singing strengthens the immune system, it improves your posture, lowers stress levels, boosts mental alertness, increases confidence and it creates a sense of community.
If you sing in your shower or car and fancy brightening up your day, come along and singalong with us. This is not a choir. It is a safe and friendly space where you can find your voice. Group singing brings people together, increasing a feeling of community and belonging. No need to book a place, just turn up at the session and pay on the door!
Just turn up in plenty of time before the session starts, and you will be given a warm welcome! The fee is only £3 per session. We start off with an informal gentle warm-up, and then we start singing songs. You‘ll be given song sheets, and backing music is played for everyone to sing along to. There is a short refreshment break during the session, at which tea, coffee, squash and biscuits are provided. It’s also a great opportunity to have a chat with some new people!
